Northridge academy high school has gone on to become one of the best schools in the LAUSD. The school is currently ranked in the top 50 schools under the LAUSD. And has an enrollment of 970 students with a student-to-teacher ratio of 24:1.

The school has not only nurtured great individuals in our society but has become a great academic pillar to students residing in the LAUSD. All who passed through the school have obeyed the Northridge Academy High School dress code.

As I have stated earlier, I have taken my time to look into the Northridge academy high school dress code. I will be highlighting all you must know when it comes to dressing as a student of Northridge academy high school.

Most public and private high schools in the United States do not have specified school uniforms for their students. Students are usually allowed to wear what pleases them provided it meets the school’s stipulated dress code.

Northridge academy high school is no exception. The school doesn’t have a specified school uniform for its students but has a dress code to regulate how students dress to school.

The school has a strong stand on dress code as they believe that at Northridge academy high school, dressing is one of the keys to success. Below is a summary of what students are not allowed to wear as stated in the NAHS dress code.

Students should not wear to school:

  • Clothing that exposes undergarments or lack of undergarments
  • Clothing that reveals the chest, all or portions of the midriff, or back. This includes but is not limited to lingerie, halter tops, tank tops or tops with spaghetti straps, bathing suit-type tops, and shirts that are too small, see-through, unbuttoned, or low-cut.
  • Clothing with profanity, sexual overtones, suggestive or derogatory/inflammatory phrases, or references to alcohol, drugs, violence, illegal acts, and or smoking.
  • Jewelry may pose a safety hazard. This includes, but may not be limited to chains,
    spikes and extra-long belts that don’t fit around the waist.
  • Unbuttoned shirts and blouses that expose the chest.
  • Sleepwear includes but is not limited to pajamas, and boxers (except during an approved spirit week event).
  • No hairnets, shower caps, combs, curlers, or rollers.
  • No gang-related clothing or items associated with any off-campus group or gang.
  • No sunglasses are allowed in the building (unless there is a medical need. A note from the doctor will be required for this accommodation.
  • No headwear unless it is NAHS approved or unless proper documentation of religious or
    medical reasons are provided by a parent or guardian.

The school’s dress code doesn’t have an exception which means it is effective at all school gatherings both on campus and off campus. Students who are caught in violation of the school dress code with be dealt with appropriately.
