1. Highland Hall Waldorf School;

Established in 1955, Highland Hall Waldorf School has served students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. Highland Hall Waldorf School is situated on a beautiful 11-acre campus in Northridge.

Also, Highland Hall offers an academically rigorous, developmental approach to education that integrates the arts in all academic disciplines. Highland Hall Waldorf School provides a preparatory college curriculum.

This ensures all Highland Hall graduates are accepted into many finest colleges and universities in the country.

The school has a 48% acceptance rate. A total enrollment pegged at 214 with an average class size of 20 students. With a yearly tuition of $24,651. Students have been assured a quality education from an experienced faculty.

2. Northridge Academy High School;

The Northridge Academy High School formally known as Valley New High School number 1, opened on September 10, 2004, with about 614 students. The school was established to reduce overcrowding at Monroe, Cleveland High School, and Granada Hills Charter High School.

And it has gone on to become one of the best high schools in the district with a current enrollment of an estimate 1,070. Northridge Academy High School is ranked 436th in California and 2,930th in the National Rankings. The school has a nice environment for the development of students.

3. John R. Wooden High School

The third on my list of the 10 best high schools in Northridge is John R. Wooden High School. John R. Wooden High School provides an alternative education environment that promotes individualized instruction in credit recovery programs.

The innovative alternative education program offers a variety of instructional options to meet the educational needs of students.

The personalized classes and the use of a project-based, holistic approach, not only focus on academic growth but complete social-emotional growth.

4. Dubnoff School

At number 4 is Dubnoff School. Established some 35 years ago, the Dubnoff school has risen to become one of the giants when it comes to education in Northridge.

The privately owned school offers a community-Based Instructional Program and now accepts students who have more challenges and are on the Spectrum.

The school recently started a Sped Program and has been working closely with Glendale Unified which has been very instrumental in the development of this new class. We are very excited about offering this.

The non-diploma/real life/social skills class for these new students certainly offers an exciting opportunity for Dubnoff students.

5. Chaminade College Preparatory

We incorporate an extraordinary support program that includes home visits, extended learning, and parent and community engagement.

7. Cleveland Charter High School

Notable for producing some superstars who have graced our screens.  Cleveland High School is the 7th high school on my 10 best high schools in Northridge. Cleveland offers certain pathways and academic programs to personalize learning to the students, allowing for self-exploration.

The school offers a Media Arts, Visual Arts, STEM, Performing Arts, Liberal Studies, and World Language pathway.

Cleveland’s academic programs include the Academy of Art and Technology (AOAT) and the School for Advanced Studies (SAS).

It has two magnet programs including the Humanities Magnet and the Global Media Studies Magnet.

The school has 45 campus clubs, and 25 classes and also offers 21 college courses alongside 103 CTE courses.

The Birmingham Community Charter High School is a thriving, collaborative community that provides an academically challenging, personalized, and supportive environment that prepares individual students to be the best version of themselves and pursue their post-high school academic and career goals.

9. Reseda Charter High School

Reseda High School (now Reseda Charter High) was the first complete high school to be built after World War II in the San Fernando Valley.

The school is the 9th best high school on my list. Reseda opened in the fall of 1955 with complete academic and science buildings, track & field, Industrial shops, including an automotive repair facility.

Reseda is one of the few high schools in the San Fernando Valley to have a complete auditorium.

Currently, Reseda Charter High is in the planning stages of a 180+ million dollar renovation which will provide state-of-the-art buildings and innovative design for the benefit of the entire community.

The school’s Police Academy Magnet and Science Magnet were named a national Magnet School of Distinction by the Magnet Schools of America in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

As of July 2017, the school was issued a full six-year term of accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation process.

10. AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School

AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School is an Armenian-American private school. It was founded in 1976 as Saint Peter-AGBU School near the corner of Louise Avenue and Sherman Way on the grounds of Saint Peter Armenian Apostolic Church.

Instruction is in Armenian and British English. For all Armenians in the diaspora, this school is perfect for high school education.
